Man Found Dead Inside Semi Cab Involved in Crash (UPDATE)

A man from the state of Virginia was fatally injured in a crash involving a semi near Montrose.

The crash occurred at 9:30pm Friday. The rig overturned in the median of I-70 about a half-mile east of Montrose.

The man was identified as 41-year-old Rasool I. Ali. Ali's family in Canada and Afghanistan have been notified of his death. The Coroner's Office worked with the Consulate General of Canada to notify Ali's family.

The Effingham County Coroner's Office transported the man to the morgue at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. The Coroner's Office drew toxicology samples and requested medical records.

The investigation is continuing by the Coroner's Office and the Illinois State Police. Agencies on scene assisting the Coroner's Office were Illinois State Police, Rural Med EMS and the Montrose Fire Protection District.
