Listeners have been contacting us about the "rest of the story" regarding Ron Slifer.

We told you that Slifer, who owns Slifer's Bloodhound Service, was shot in the leg by an arrow from a crossbow in Marion County this week while helping track a deer. He was taken to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis where surgery was performed to remove the arrow from his leg.

Slifer was released from the hospital Thursday night and his wife was going to drive him home with him laying down in the back of their vehicle. Slifer's wife had to run back into the hospital to pick up one more item left inside. She pulled their vehicle out of the way of the hospital entrance and went to retrieve the item.

As Ron posted on his Facebook page, while he was laying in the back of the vehicle in the dark, a man got into the vehicle and started driving away, apparently thinking the vehicle was unoccupied. When Slifer asked the man what he was doing, the man said he was with hospital security and that the vehicle couldn't stay parked where it was.

Slifer said he could tell by the man's dress that he wasn't any security guard. Fortunately for Slifer, the man drove around the corner, and then parked and fled from the vehicle.

When Slifer's wife came out of the hospital, and couldn't find the vehicle, she phoned her phone that she had left inside the vehicle and Ron answered. He told her what had happened, she found the vehicle, and the Slifer notified hospital security of what had happened.

No one was harmed in that incident, but it was quite an end to the episode after being wounded by a crossbow arrow.
