The Effingham County Board's Executive Committee Wednesday voted to recommend the full County Board endorse proposed changes to the Effingham/Effingham County Enterprise Zone. Among the changes is a residential housing incentive. That measure would provide a five-year property tax abatement on single-family residences built in the Zone, and a three-year abatement on projects involving projects involving two or more units. The full County Board will vote on the measure at their next meeting.

The Committee also voted to earmark $345,000 in ARPA funds sought by Community Support Systems for transportation of CSS consumers. CSS is currently operating six routes to pick up consumers, and is contracting with Central Illinois Public Transit for three other routes.

A resolution was sent to the full Board supporting a suit brought by State's Attorney Aaron Jones against the SAFE-T Act.
