Dieterich school board members Tuesday approved a senior class trip to Louisville, Kentucky. The trip will be taken from April 26-28, 2023.

The Board also approved the audit of the past fiscal year's books as presented by Cory Brown of Mose, Yockey, Brown and Kull, and also approved the district Wellness Policy, which will be placed on the district website for public viewing.

Board members accepted sealed bids on three district-owned vehicles, and agreed to sell the vehicles to the highest bidders. That includes a 2001 Blue Bird bus to Justin Volk and Carsen Funneman for $3,010; a 2002 Dodge van to Kevin Cutler for $1,271; and a 2005 Dodge van to Shane Wetherholt for $2,800.

There was discussion on possibly adding junior high cross country to the list of extra-curricular offerings. Superintendent Cary Jackson said the discussion was positive. Junior-Senior High School Principal Scott Kocher mentioned that the district will have until Spring to make a final decision, as that would be the deadline to notify IESA.

In personnel moves, the Dieterich board hired Troy Althoff as Head of Transportation and Head of Buildings and Grounds; hired Brian Hushaw as a fulltime custodian; and reassigned Beth Homann from substitute bus driver to fulltime bus driver.
