The Cross Foundation recently held its annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner at the Effingham Event Center. More than 100 volunteers from the Cross at the Crossroads attended the dinner and program. Cross Foundation board member, Christy Hakman, emceed the event and Jeremy Nice, Parish Missionary at St. Anthony of Padua Church was invited to share his testimony and give an inspirational message to those gathered.

Hakman presented the 2022 Volunteer of the Year Award to Charlie Semple, who serves as a greeter at the Cross Welcome Center and also assists with the beautification of the Cross campus. From mowing and mulching to weeding and operating equipment, Semple has played an important part in the improvements currently being made on the Cross grounds.
