Altamont school board members Monday got to hear about the grade school and high school band programs.

Director Sara Berg and students Luke Stanley, Megan Spring, Sophia Pearcy and Kadence Wolff shared about their upcoming performances. This year's theme for Altamont's marching band is "Ghostbusters". Berg and the students also shared highlights of their performance at Busch Stadium on September 17.

The Board also heard from Bo Thomas of Glass and Shuffett CPAs on the past fiscal year's audit. Thomas said the district's overall profile score was 3.80, which is a profile designation of "Recognition", the highest level possible.

Altamont board members discussed the estimated fiscal year tax levy, which is projected to be 5% to 7% higher than the previous year, and also approved attendance and expenses to both this year's Joint Annual Conference and the AASA National Conference for Altamont Superintendent Casey Adam.

The Board approved an increase in pay for athletic officials, and discussed adding a business teacher for this school year. The matter will likely be voted on at the November meeting. It was also agreed to seek bids on a new mower.

In personnel moves, the Altamont board accepted the resignation of Jeff Walton as a teacher at the high school and the resignation of Hope Bueker as JV girls basketball coach. Neil Winter was approved to replace Walton on the Building Leadership Team.
