Teutopolis village board members plan to continue researching a solar energy ordinance.

The matter has been discussed for a while. Tony Martin with Sonne Energy Solutions discussed the measure and offered his help in finalizing the guidelines. Tik Tok Energy has also volunteered to help with drafting the measure.

The Board plans to have its public health and safety committee meet ahead of the next board meeting on October 19 to discuss the ordinance.

Discussion has also continued regarding a swimming pool ordinance, but the Board is aiming at finalizing the solar energy measure, then addressing the swimming pool measure.

The Board tabled action on returning a bond to Adam and Amy Goeckner on their lot in Prairie View Subdivision, and discussed whether regulations need to be in place for short-term vacation rentals in the village. Village Attorney Tracy Willenborg will be contacted on the issue.

Board members discussed whether laptops should be purchased for their use rather than handle loads of paper needed to review various items. It was decided to hire a bulldozer and an operator to straighten out drainage problems at Main Circle.
