The Board of Directors of the Effingham Regional Career Academy has formed the Effingham Regional Career Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation, to serve as the governing arm of ERCA. The current ERCA board of directors becomes the board for the new foundation.

Board Chair Norma Lansing noted that the nonprofit corporation was needed to provide a legal entity which can accept donations, apply for grants and oversee the academic and fiduciary obligations of the Academy and its partners.

“As we move toward full implementation of the Effingham Regional Career Academy curriculum and programs, it became necessary to formalize the structure under which ERCA operates and provide all of our business, community and education partners with the assurance that we are fully committed to providing our students, both high school and adults, with education and skills training that will make them valued employees in our area businesses", Lansing said.

The Board also accepted the resignation of Jami Sidwell, who has left her employment at Patterson Companies, and elected Kevin Stundon, Patterson’s Director of Operations and Training to fill Sidwell’s unexpired term. Stundon will be seated at the Board’s November meeting.
