Zoning Board of Appeals Grants Variance

The Effingham City Zoning Board of Appeals has granted a setback variance to owners of a property on the north edge of Heartville.

Cathern Back and Randy Back requested a reduction in the rear yard setback from the required 30 feet down to 15 feet. The Backs want to build an attached garage onto their home at 9800 North Country Drive. The variance will accommodate a sewer line and above ground pool and still make room for the garage.
