An Altamont teenager was injured in a crash in a rural part of Mound Township Wednesday morning. Details on the crash were released Monday by the Effingham County Sheriff's Department.

The crash happened at 7:45am on the Altamont-Farina blacktop, a short distance south of 700th Avenue, south of Altamont near the Bethlehem community. Deputies report a car driven by 18-year-old Elizabeth Tappendorf of Altamont was southbound when Tappendorf lost control of the car after it went partially off the roadway to the right. Tappendorf maneuvered the car back onto the roadway into the opposite lane, then went completely off the roadway to the right, through the ditch, and overturned. The vehicle came to rest in a soybean field.

Tappendorf was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

No citations were issued.
