Improvements to Jefferson Avenue, 2nd Street to Begin Tuesday

The City of Effingham will begin roadway improvements to Jefferson Avenue from 3rd Street to 1st Street, and 2nd Street from Jefferson Avenue to Market Avenue, on Tuesday at 7:00 a.m. 

Feutz Contractors of Paris will be the contractor for the work, including removal and replacement of the pavement. The project will involve multiple phases, and is expected to be completed early in November.

During the initial phase of construction, Jefferson Avenue will be closed from 3rd Street to 1st Street. 2nd Street will also be closed at the intersection with Jefferson Avenue. 1st Street will remain open during the initial phase of construction.
