Crossroads Bank is being proactive in an effort to keep their customers from falling for a scam. A similar incident occurred at another local bank about a month ago, and that incident was also a scam.

 This fraudulent attack begins with a text message asking if you made a transaction at a business and requests that you respond with Yes or No, or

 You will receive a phone call from what appears to be the bank’s phone number, but it is not a bank representative on the phone.

 They will then ask for your debit card information and other secure account information.

 Providing information could result in fraudulent activity on your account.

 These calls usually target a specific bank and then call all residents in that area, not knowing if they are customers of that bank but hoping to get as many responses as possible.

 Crossroads Bank will not call you asking for the last 4 digits of your card.

 Crossroads Bank's fraud department will not call from their (800) 300-7751 phone number. Crossroads Bank recommends you never provide information to unsolicited callers. They recommend you contact the bank directly at (217) 347-7751 or (800) 300-7751 if you ever suspect you have received a fraudulent telephone call, text, or email message.
