Wheeler Man Fatally Injured in Crash

A Wheeler man was fatally injured in a vehicle crash late Sunday night.

Illinois State Police report 59-year-old Kenneth Koebele died when his truck ran off the road, struck a culvert, and rolled over. Koebele was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred at 9:50pm on 1900th Avenue in Jasper County, just east of the Effingham-Jasper County line. Koebele was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
