Greenup Man Charged w/Murder in Weekend Shooting Death

A Greenup man has been charged with first degree murder in a weekend shooting death.

57-year-old Lonnie Glidewell faces a Class M Felony charge in the death of 36-year-old Colten L. Oakley of Westfield.

The Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 8 was requested by Cumberland County Sheriff's Office to conduct a homicide investigation in Greenup at approximately 9:23pm Saturday. Oakley was located dead with gunshot wounds outside of a residence in the 2000 block of County Road 1300 North.

Glidewell was formally charged today and is being held in Cumberland County Jail under a bond of $1,000,000. He is next due in court August 29 to determine his legal counsel.
