Stew-Stras Board Discusses Football, Compatibility w/Fall Baseball

Stewardson-Strasburg school board members Wednesday approved new increases in officials' pay, and also approved a tentative budget for the coming fiscal year with final action expected in September.

The Board decided to seek bids for a track replacement project, with a decision on whether to award a contract to be made once the numbers are in. Meanwhile, the Board is waiting on some easements needed for a sewer line installation project. The plan is to run sewer to Strasburg, eliminating the need for the sewage plant onsite at the school. 

Board members also discussed an eight-man football program and the cost of adding the sport. They also discussed the feasibility of football and baseball fall seasons running at the same time.

The Stew-Stras board also hired Ashlyn Roley as a paraprofessional.
