Dieterich Bank is being proactive in an effort to keep their customers from falling for a scam.

  • This fraudulent attack begins with a text message asking if you made a transaction at a business and requests that you respond with Yes or No.
  • You will then receive a phone call from what appears to be the bank’s phone number, but it is not a bank representative on the phone.
  • They will then ask for your debit card information and other secure account information.
  • Providing information could result in fraudulent activity on your account.
  • These calls usually target a specific bank and then call all residents in that area, not knowing if they are customers of that bank but hoping to get as many responses as possible.
Dieterich Bank released this statement:

  • Dieterich Bank will not call you asking for the last 4 digits of your card.
  • Our fraud department will not call from our (800) 699-9766 phone number.
  • Our fraud department will not identify themselves as the First National Bank of Dieterich.

Contact the bank if you would like more information.
