Here's the Wednesday schedule at the Effingham County Fair:

--noon--Big Ten harness racing card from Tuesday

--1pm--Downstate Classic Racing sponsored by Leisure Times and People's State Bank

--3:30pm, 5:30pm--Community Showcase in the Schuetzenfest Building

--Balloons and Face Painting on the Free Stage

--5pm--carnival opens (Family Bargain Night)

--5:30pm--4-H Auction in the 4-H Show Arena

--7pm--Lucas Oil Pro Pulling Champion Seed Western Series sponsored by Dust and Son and Wix Filters

Fair Board President Phil Hartke said for the tractor pull, PPL entries will stage at Altamont High School and come to the fairgrounds one class at a time. Local entries will stage on the racetrack. The audience will be picked up from the bleacher factory and from Altamont Grade School.
