Updated Information on Effingham County Fair

We have updated information regarding activities tonight at the 78th Effingham County Fair at Altamont.

First, the carnival will NOT open tonight due to the wet grounds. The carnival will now open on Wednesday at 5pm.

Second, the Queen Pageant is a GO for tonight at the scheduled 7pm times.

Third, the fair is offering bus pickup services at Altamont Community High School and at the Bleacher Factory to the Fairgrounds and back.

Fourth, a decision on Wednesday's horse races will be made by 9am Wednesday, at the latest. Right now, they are to begin at noon Wednesday.
