Among the many good things done by Rotary clubs worldwide, one standout is the Rotary Youth Exchange.

The Youth Exchange facilitates student visits to various nations around the world in an effort to promote peace and understanding.  Host families accommodate a student from another country for up to one year.

Vitor Celestino of Brazil is being sponsored by the Effingham Noon Rotary Club and is attending Altamont Community High School as a guest of the Whitt family.  His host sister, Jennifer Whitt, was an Outbound Youth Exchange student to France last year.

Vitor and Jennifer spoke to Rotarians at their May 15 meeting about the benefits of serving as a host family and their experiences as an exchange student.
