Peaceful End to the Search for Shadie Thomas

A peaceful ending to a missing person matter in Clay County.

Clay County Sheriff Andy Myers reported Wednesday that Shadie Thomas has been located and is safe. Earlier this week, Myers' office was able to develop a new lead on Thomas' whereabouts. Sheriff's deputies responded to the location and met with individuals there. 

Myers indicated the individuals were more than cooperative with the deputies and assisted them in making contact with Shadie. They reported that Thomas seemed happy and content to be at that location. She was provided with contacts for additional resources to ensure her well-being moving forward. 

Myers said his office would continue to investigate the events surrounding the incident.
