Teutopolis village board members Wednesday moved ahead with two major grant funded projects.

The Board finalized the project map for a sidewalk grant project. Lee Beckman of Milano and Grunloh Engineers outlined where the sidewalks to be funded by the grant would be placed. It's hoped the grant request will be on file in August.

An unsewered grant will also be sought. Funds could help pay for installation of sewers in unserved parts of the village. The next step is to file the application.

The Board discussed the concerns of a resident who experienced flooding on her property along Main Street during the heavy rainfall experienced in June.

Village Foreman Carl Pals will research the matter, but it's not known what can be done due to the large amount of rainfall received in such a short period of time.

The Board granted the Teutopolis for Tomorrow committee permission to allow golf carts and side by sides to stay out until 10pm for the Garage Band Night on August 13. The Board, however, will ask Village Attorney Tracy Willenborg to only permit units to cross Main Street legally at Pearl Street after dark.

Board members approved the purchase of a pickup truck with a utility bed from the Village of Montrose; paid the $19,393.80 bill to John L. Lewis Concrete Construction for work done to improve the access and egress to and from the parking lot across Main Street from St. Francis Catholic Church; agreed to a $1,000 per year contribution for the next three years to the Effingham County CEO Program; and approved the appropriations ordinance for the new fiscal year.
