Things are moving ahead toward the start of the school year at North Clay schools.

The school board Wednesday learned that the new Social Science curriculum is arriving for both the grade school and high school; that the new high school gym floor is close to completion, and that online registration for the new school year is underway and will continue through July 29.

Board members agreed to add Bowling as an activity at North Clay High School for the coming school year, and approved co-oping with the Flora district in cross country at both the junior high and high school levels.

The Board discussed a vote on construction management agreements for capital improvements to the school complex, but the matter was tabled.

In personnel matters, the North Clay board hired Julie Koelm as high school cross country coach; agreed to seek a bowling coach at the high school; accepted the resignation of Cathleen Peno as junior high Science teacher; hired Michael Honerkamp as high school girls basketball assistant coach; accepted the resignation of Avery Williams as a 4th grade teacher; and authorized the Administration to fill open teaching positions and to hire up to two fulltime substitute teachers.
