A car and an ambulance collided on I-57, four miles south of Farina, just after 2pm Wednesday.

State police report that a car driven by 55-year-old Darren Eaves of Powderly, Kentucky was stalled in the left-hand lane of traffic. The ambulance driven by 37-year-old Matthew Dyer of Monticello was traveling in the right-hand lane behind a semi. Dyer attempted to pass the semi and struck Eaves' car.

Eaves was injured and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Dyer was not reported injured.

Eaves was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
