The Lake Land College Board of Trustees has approved a temporary lease with St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham for educational space.

The lease was due to replacement of the air-conditioning at the Lake Land Kluthe Center in Effingham. General Education, Nursing and Massage classes are being taught at the St. Anthony Parish Center in the meantime.

The Board approved a budget for the coming fiscal year. Final action is expected at the August meeting. The budget is balanced.

Part-time rates and stipends and part-time staff hourly increases for 2024 were updated to keep in step with increases in the minimum wage. The Board also acted on educational services contracts with the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice and a Memorandum of Understanding was approved with AFSCME, both for contracts for instruction offered in the state's prison system.

Lake Land trustees awarded a bid for a mobile training and recruitment trailer. The trailer would be used with the college's MobileArc Augmented Reality Welding systems. The Board also approved a bid sealing and striping of parking areas and roadways; approved of a lease agreement renewal with the City of Paris; amended a contract with CTS Group, a Veregy Company of St. Louis, for energy services; and approved organizational charts for the coming fiscal year.
