Five-Vehicle Crash North of Effingham Tuesday Evening; No Major Injuries

State police and Effingham firefighters were called to a five-vehicle collision on I-57 between Effingham and Neoga Tuesday evening.

No serious injuries were reported in the crash, which occurred shortly after 7pm in the southbound lanes.

Effingham Fire Chief Brant Yochum said that the crash actually began in the northbound lanes, but ended up in the southbound lanes. The Chief said none of the drivers were taken for treatment. There also was no road blockage.
