Dive Team Rescues Man Trapped in Flood Waters Overnight

After several rounds of heavy rainfall Friday night, Effingham County's Dive Rescue Team pulled a man from flood waters early Saturday morning.

The dive team was called out at 1:21 am after a report that a vehicle was in a flooded area along Route 33 at 300th Street near Beecher City. The driver of the vehicle, Glen Donaldson, had driven into rapidly rising water and was trapped inside. Four dive team members deployed a small boat and had Donaldson on shore at 2:10 am.

Rural Med checked Donaldson at the scene, and he was unharmed.
