City Police Investigating Multiple Reports of Criminal Damage

Effingham city police are investigating a number of criminal damage to vehicle incidents.
Nine events occurred in a period between 6pm Friday and 9:30am Saturday. The instances involved a semi owned by Penske Leasing in the 300 block of West Virginia Avenue, a vehicle owned by Sarah Ruholl of Effingham in the 100 block of East Virginia Avenue, a vehicle owned by Megan Ames of Effingham in the 1200 block of North Merchant Street, a vehicle owned by Shirley Richardson of Effingham in the 700 block of North Cleveland Street, a vehicle owned by Doris Jones of Effingham in the 900 block of North Merchant Street, a vehicle owned by Nicholas Althoff of Effingham in the 400 block of West Kentucky Avenue, a vehicle owned by Catherine Griffith of Effingham in the 700 block of North Merchant Street, a vehicle owned by Paige Forth of Effingham at 905 West Evergreen Avenue, and a vehicle owned by Ralph Kortte of Effingham in the 800 block of North Avenue.
Damage to windows in the vehicles is estimated at between $250 and $500. If you have any information on the incidents, you're asked to phone city police or Crimestoppers.

City police are also investigating a report of criminal damage to a video gaming machine at Scrubby's Bar on Jefferson in downtown Effingham between 5pm Thursday and 1am Friday. Damage is estimated at $1,200.
Police are also investigating the theft of two devices from AT&T Communications on Thelma Keller Avenue just after 3:40pm Saturday. Stolen were an I-Phone 5 and an I-Phone 4S. The total value of the two devices is just under $1,300.
