The Effingham County Health Department has received confirmation of three COVID-related deaths. The individuals were in their 50s and their 70s; two of the individuals had not received any COVID vaccine and the third was not up to date with their vaccinations.

The health department received word of 27 new cases of COVID from Friday, May 20 through Thursday, May 26. That number is up from recent weeks, when the total cases reported were in the teens.

The health department recommends that people continue to take steps to reduce exposure to COVID, including washing your hands and socialize outdoors as much as possible.
