Neoga school board members were briefed at this month's meeting on improvements to the high school baseball diamond.

Plans are to re-sod the infield at J. Lee McTeer Field, and to add drainage tiles. Concrete pads were installed and bleachers have been placed on the pads. New dugouts and new benches are a part of the improvements.

Neoga Superintendent Bill Fritcher acknowledged much of the work and money for the work being donated by Tony Fearday.

The Neoga board approved hiring summer school teachers. Those include Amy Westjohn, Elaine Brandenburg and Yvonne West at the grade school; Rachel Orsborn and Amy Kepp at the junior high; and Deacon Faulkner and Steve McCann at the high school.

Board members also hired Rebecca Nail as Neoga band director and Mary Hill as varsity volleyball coach and summer strength and conditioning coach.

The Board also accepted resignations from Shawn Towle as custodian, and from Kevin Czerwonka as custodian, effective September 30.

Board members also renewed insurance coverage through Dimond Brothers, and approved membership in the Illinois Elementary School Association.
