Information Released on Two Crashes Resulting in Injuries

Local law enforcement agencies Monday released information on two crashes resulting in injuries.

One crash occurred at 9:25am Thursday in Effingham, south of the intersection of Banker and Wabash. Effingham City Police report a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Cheyenna Lustig of Effingham pulled into the path of, and was struck by, a vehicle driven by 76-year-old Marilyn McCollum of Beecher City.

Both drivers sustained injuries and sought treatment at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Lustig was transported by ambulance, while McCollum was taken by private vehicle.

Lustig was cited for failure to yield.

The other crash occurred at 1:29pm Friday in Clay County, on Camelia Road, just north of Granger Boulevard.

Illinois State Police report a vehicle driven by 86-year-old L.E. Tolliver of Clay City attempted a left turn onto a private property. At the same time, a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Alexander Larch of Rinard attempted to pass the Tolliver vehcle on the left, and the units collided. Larch's vehicle ran off the roadway and overturned.

Both drivers were taken to an area hospital for treatment of what were termed non life threatening injuries.

No citations were reported.
