Fayette County Authorities Investigating Death in St. Elmo

Fayette County authorities are investigating the death of a St. Elmo man early Friday morning.

The man has been identified as 24-year-old Andrew D. Spelbring of St. Elmo.

Fayette County Coroner David Harris was dispatched by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office to a location outside 1st and Elm Streets in St. Elmo at 3:15am, where Spelbring's body was discovered.

An autopsy will be performed at 1pm today in the morgue at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. The investigation into the death is continuing by the Fayette County Coroner's Office and the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
