A Cisne woman has been sentenced in Clay County Circuit Court to eight years in prison for drugs.

56-year-old Brenda Locke was sentenced Monday by Judge Joel Powless after pleading guilty in February. Locke pleaded guilty to unlawful delivery of between five and 15 grams of methamphetamine on November 30, 2020. Locke will serve one year mandatory supervised release once out of prison.

The Clay County State's Attorney's Office sought a 10-year sentence, which was the sentencing cap agreed to by all parties. The maximum sentence for such a Class 1 felony is 15 years.
