The man charged with helping a Shelby County man conceal the murder of his grandmother last year could enter a plea to the offense next week.

21-year-old Thomas Miller of Decatur is charged in Shelby County with concealment of homicidal death and possession of a stolen vehicle. Miller is accused of assisting in the concealment of the body of Sherry Hubbartt of Clarksburg in April 2021 after Hubbartt's grandson, Clayton Anderson of Shelbyville, killed the woman.

Anderson and Miller fled west but were arrested in Nevada on unrelated charges. Anderson in October pleaded guilty to his grandmother's murder in exchange for a sentence of natural life in prison.

Miller is scheduled to enter a plea during a court appearance next Monday afternoon. It will be an open plea with no assurance as to the sentence he will receive.
