Two more individuals filed for a seat on the Effingham County Board on Thursday.

Incumbent Republican Norbert Soltwedel has filed for a second term in District A.

Newcomer Jeremy D. Deters filed as a Republican in District I. Joe Thoele currently is the County Board member in District I, but Thoele has indicated for some time that he would not be seeking another term.

As the County Board election now stands, there is no more than one person running in any district. So far, there is no candidate from District D, where Republican David Campbell is the incumbent.

At the legislative level, local State Representative Adam Niemerg of Dieterich filed for a second term in the General Assembly. A Republican, Niemerg is seeking election from the 102nd District.

The filing deadline is 5pm on Monday, the 14th.
