Effingham High School students continued to campaign against cancer Friday.

Students wore their Effingham Students Fight Against Cancer T-shirts to raise awareness.  The T-shirts were designed and printed by Charlie Schwerman's Graphic Arts II students.  The T-shirts were a part of the coin fundraiser led by EHS Science teacher Mrs. Habing.  EHS students were encouraged to donate their pennies to contribute toward cancer research.  The coins were collected during April, and the final results were announced April 30.

Third place went to Mrs. Quast's class with 16,290 pennies, Mrs. Johnson's class took second with 18,863 pennies, and Mr. Schwerman's class earned first place honors with 31,706 pennies.

EHS students raised more than $1,800.  Proceeds from the competition will go toward to the Relay for Life set for July 12 at Teutopolis Junior High School.
