Fire damaged a structure near Teutopolis Thursday afternoon.

Teutopolis firefighters were called to 10551 North 1650th Street at 1:50pm. The fire was discovered by a firefighter who was passing by. Fire was visible on the north exterior side of the building.

Mutual aid tenders responded from Dieterich Fire Protection District and Montrose Fire Protection District to assist Teutopolis firefighters.

Firefighters forced entry into the building and attacked the fire that was running up an interior wall. The firefighters advanced up to a second floor loft area and began pulling interior walls to gain access to the seat of the fire.

Firefighters had the fire under control at 2:28pm, but continued with overhaul operations until completion at 3:12pm.

No one was injured. Smoke damage was reported throughout the building. The name of the building's owner was not available. The fire remains under investigation, but is being ruled accidental.

All fire companies cleared the scene at 3:41pm.
