Man Found Dead in June Lake Residence

A man was found dead in a residence in June Lake Subdivision west of Effingham Sunday afternoon.

Effingham County Coroner Kim Rhodes said Clark Davis was 48 years old. 

Effingham County Sheriff's Department, Abbott EMS and Shumway Fire Protection District firefighters were called at 1pm Sunday to the residence on a report of an unresponsive male. The emergency responders found Davis dead in the residence.

Rhodes said it appears from a preliminary investigaition that Davis died from natural causes, but medical records and toxicology sampes were obtained by the Coroner's office to assist in the death investigation.
