Almost a month after the event occurred, the body of Teutopolis native Sue Borries has been recovered in Panama.

A plane containing Borries and others went down off the coast of Panama on January 3. Most of those on the plane were rescued, but Borries and another retired teacher were not found.

In a Facebook post Tuesday, Borries' daughter Sarah shared that "Today we thank God that as of early this morning Keith from Bruce's Legacy with coordination from the Panamanian government has found and recovered Mom and her friend Deb. We still have a ways to go to get her home to her final resting place, but we are so grateful we are finally on our way to honoring my mother and processing this tragedy."

Sue Borries was a longtime teacher in the Teutopolis school district.
