State Crop and Weather Report for January

The state crop and weather report has been released.

Statewide, the average temperature was 22.1 degrees, 2.4 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 1.12 inches, 0.34 inches below normal.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 2 percent very short, 17 percent short, 70 percent adequate, and 11 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 6 percent very short, 16 percent short, 70 percent adequate, and 8 percent surplus.

Winter wheat condition was 3 percent very poor, 12 percent poor, 43 percent fair, 33 percent good, and 9 percent excellent.
