Teutopolis school board members want to hear from disrict residents as they look to the future.

The Board Monday discussed district goals and directed Superintendent Matt Sturgeon to establish various listening sessions. The listening sessions will be designed to gather more parent, community, staff and student input prior to formal adoption of those goals in either May or June.

Board members heard from Sturgeon on court proceedings regarding COVID requirements and action by a number of school districts regarding State directives. There was also discussion regarding a track and soccer bleacher project at the junior high school. The Board also learned that the district has submitted a property tax relief grant application to the State.

Teutopolis board members accepted resignations from Jake Burrell as high school volunteer baseball coach with an immediate effective date and from Dianna Hotze as full time bus driver as of January 28...and accepted the retirements of Karen Smith and Diana Grinestaff at the conclusion of the 2024-25 school year. The Board also hired Cassie Carpenter as high school track coach for this school year.
