Altamont Council Acts on Infrastructure Projects

Altamont city council members acted on a series of infrastructure improvement projects over the past month.

The Council awarded a bid for replacement of raw water pumps in the city reservoir. The replacement work will cost just over $148,000. Also okayed was transformer repairs for close to $35,000 in the electric yard. A transformer was leaking. 

The Council approved the tax levy, and confirmed that Taylor Law Offices is the city's legal representative. That action allowed the City to seek grant funds for replacement of a squad car. Action on a TIF agreement iwth TJRS Properties was tabled to allow for further review of the agreement. 

The Council approved the names of three streets in South Point Subdivision. Students at Altamont Grade School and Altamont Lutheran Interparish School got to help with selecting the names for the streets. One will be called B&O Point Road, one will be called Rocket Road, and the third will be called Wildcat Way.

Altamont council members approved employee health coverage at a 27% premium increase and with a little higher deductible, and approved a payment to Milano and Grunloh Engineers for design engineering of a northwest sanitary sewer for $20,000.
