Miller vs Davis

Congresswoman Mary Miller has announced her candidacy for a second term in Congress. The Oakland resident will seek re-election from the 15th Congressional District, where she is currently serving.

The Congressional redistricting moved Miller's farm to the 12th Congressional District, where Republican Mike Bost is the incumbent. Republican Rodney Davis of Taylorville is a resident of the new 15th District and is seeking another term from that district. A Congressional candidate does not have to live in the district where they serve. That left Miller with the choice of running against either Bost or Davis in the Republican primary.

In announcing her decision, Miller said she has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump for another term.

Davis was a co-chair of Trump's campaign in Illinois, but voted to certify the 2020 election results. He has served in Congress since 2012 and could be in line for a House committee chairmanship should he be re-elected and Republicans regain control of the US House.
