February Trial Date Set for Hubbard

A February trial date has been scheduled for Effingham resident Martin Hubbard.

The 66-year-old Hubbard faces eight counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. The counts allege actions against four children.

Judge Christopher Matoush set a final pre-trial hearing for Hubbard on February 17. The trial is slated to begin February 28. 

Effingham County Public Defender Scott Schmidt is representing Hubbard, who remains in Effingham County Jail. Schmidt entered a not guilty plea on behalf of his client at Thursday's hearing.
