HIbbett Sporting Goods Coming to Effingham

Hibbett Sporting Goods is coming to Effingham.

Hibbett, a national sporting goods retailer based in Birmingham, Alabama, plans to open the new location this winter at 1600 Ford Avenue, near Kohl's and Wal-Mart.  Hibbett anticipates employing eight full- and part-time team members.  Currently, Hibbett has 23 locations in Illinois alone.

Hibbett operates more than 870 full-time sporting goods stores in small to mid-sized markets, predominantly in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest.

Effingham Economic Development Director Todd Hull was very pleased with the announcement, saying, "We've been working to get them here for a long time."
