One person was killed and two others were injured in a collision on Illinois Route 33 in Effingham County Friday night.

This is updated information from what we had on our morning newscasts.

Killed in the crash was 72-year-old Linda K. Miller of Newton. Illinois State Police report Miller's westbound car crossed the center line into the eastbound lane. The car then collided head-on with a SUV driven by 28-year-old Taylor Kerner of Newton. The impact caused Kerner's vehicle to roll over and come to rest back on its wheels.

Miller was pronounced dead at the scene by Effingham County Coroner Kim Rhodes. Kerner and a passenger, 23-year-old Kortni Augenstein of Strasburg, were both injured and were taken by private vehicle to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

The crash scene was one mile east of County Road 1000 North. Illinois Route 33 was closed in both directions at the crash scene until 2:45am Saturday.
