Local Woman Injured in Crash Southwest of Lake Sara Sunday

An Effingham woman was injured in a crash Sunday morning southwest of Lake Sara.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports 80-year-old Deanna Rodgers of Effingham was traveling on 1400th Avenue, east of 650th Street in Summit Township when the crash happened at 9am. 

Deputies reported Rodgers lost control of her vehicle and drove off the roadway to the north, where her vehicle struck the side of a bridge. Her vehicle then overturned, falling from the side of the bridge. The vehicle landed below the bridge in a creek on its top.

Rodgers was transported to HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
