Two New Jersey residents were killed in a three-vehicle crash in Fayette County on Friday morning.

The crash happened at 9:19am on eastbound I-70 near Mulberry Grove. State police report a semi driven by 55-year-old Bill Lard of Los Angeles, California left the westbound lanes and headed through the median. The rig then entered the eastbound lanes and struck a trailer being pulled by a pickup truck driven by 31-year-old Ronald Grant of Pleasant Hope, Missouri. The semi then struck a minivan driven by 19-year-old Cole Young of Brick, New Jersey. The impact caused the semi and the minivan to skid into the south ditch.

Lard, the semi driver, was airlifted for treatment of serious injuries. Young and his passenger, 20-year-ol Marsada Conners of Brick, New Jersey, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Grant, the pickup truck driver, refused medical attention.

Lard was cited for improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
