The bills are in the mail.

That's the 2020, payable in 2021, Effingham County property tax bills.

Effingham County Treasurer Paula Miller said the bills were mailed on Friday.

Due dates for paying your property tax bills are Friday, September 10 for at least the first installment, and Friday, October 22 for the second installment. Those due dates are if you want to avoid a 1-1/2% per month penalty for late payment of your tax bills.

Please be aware that tax bills with property ownership changes after December 31, 2020 will not reflect the new owner's name and address, and must be forwarded to the person or persons responsible for payment.
