Today is the deadline to submit questions if you're a vendor interested in providing ambulance service in Effingham County.

A request for proposals was issued in July by the Effingham County Board. Answers to the questions posed will be posted on the County website next Friday, August 13.

Proposals to provide ambulance service are due on September 14. Proposals will be opened that afternoon in the County Board meeting room at the Effingham County Office Building. The County Board's Ambulance Oversight Committee will review the proposals before the Board meets on October 18 to award the contract.

Board members say their goal is to have a new contract in place well in advance of the expiration of the current contract with Abbott EMS in the spring of 2022.
