Man Injured in Crash Near Edgewood

A man was injured in a crash early this morning.

The crash occurred at 1:11am on Ridge Road in Clay County, one mile west of US Route 45.

State police say 36-year-old Jason Whitehouse of Edgewood reported some deer ran onto the roadway.  Whitehouse lost control of his truck, which skidded for more than 130 feet before running off the road into a ditch.

Whitehouse was injured and was taken to Clay County Hospital in Flora for treatment.

Whitehouse was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash, DUI, illegal transportation of liquor and driving while his license is revoked.
